The year-end is fast approaching, and before diving headlong into the next one did you pause you thank those who impacted you this year? None of us got to where we are on our own, this is a natural point to thank those to played a role in our story. Yes, I know this wasn’t the brightest year. That doesn’t mean some lessons don’t deserve thanks.
I want to share the story of how my family says thanks. I hope you will share yours as well. As you read further keep in mind that I am married to Superman, so please don’t adopt our format without careful consideration!
My husband, kids and I bake Christmas cookies and give them to everyone who makes our lives better. This year we gave to 107 people. We give tins of cookies, about 60-70 cookies per tin. (Yes that’s +7000 cookies) This year we selected 30 recipes, and included at least 25 flavors in each tin. Yeah, that’s a lot. A lot of everything-flavors, receivers, recipes, trips to the store, trips in/out of the oven, trips to deliver, trip to the post office. And we fit it all in before Christmas Eve.
And we in return receive the most wonderful thank you notes. Those thank you notes make up for the late nights, crusty kitchen floor, belly aches from too much sugar; everything.
As I mentioned, our way is not for everyone. But take a moment to consider doing something, especially this year, it has been tough for so many of us. Acknowledgment of how someone impacted you in a positive way has big impact on them. You won’t regret it.
I would love to hear your thanks stories in the comments section.
